High 5

Well, On May 25th JC and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. I can't believe we have been married for 5 years. We haven't officially celebrated it but it has happened. We have been married longer than a lot of celebrity couples. Time has just flown by. I can't believe it. Here's to another 5.

Our EXCITING news....

We got a phone call on May 21. It was from our adoption coordinator Lisa. She called to tell me she has 2 healthy infant baby boys and we get to choose which one we want. The pictures Ethiopia sent were not good so we have to wait to pick new ones. Lisa is in Ethiopia right now and she is taking pictures of the boys and when she comes back on June 4th we will be choosing one of them to be our son. I don't know how I am going to choose. It will be hard to take one and not the other. I plan on keeping tabs on the other and if he doesn't find a family, taking him eventually. It is so surreal. We are going to be going to pick up our son in the next few months. We can't wait. We mailed in all our paperwork so now we are playing the waiting game. Olivia is really excited to have a baby brother. I am scared but thrilled. I know that we are doing the right thing. This little boy is going to be so loved. It is going to be hard to wait for him. JC and I are on pins and needles. This process has been so fast, and I know that we have been lead here to this exact place. I can't wait to go to Deseret Industries and shop. :)

to Breed or Not to Breed...

Well, a lot has happened since the last post. I thought it was time that we gave an update. One of the biggest things is JC getting another job while we wait for the railroad to decide what is going on. We has gotten hired on at Circle 4 Farms. It wasn't his first choice but it's a job. He is a breeder, which means he aritifically inseminates the pigs. He says the job isn't as bad as he thought it would be, but still it's not the most fun. He gets up at 5 everyday and home just after 5 at night.
Other news.... Olivia has graduated preschool. She misses it. We will have to find something else to keep her busy.
I am officially finished substitute teaching. It has been fun but I don't think I will be doing it next year. We should have our new child by then and I feel he will need me so no more subbing. I had a busy Sunday. We had family come and visit and on top of that I had a lot of church responsibilities. Let me give a run-down. I was the chorister in Sacrament, gave the closing prayer in sacrament, conducted Primary, gave sharing time and was the chorister in Primary. I was very happy when church was completed.
We are doing very well and hope all is also.

Life on a farm....

This past week it has really hit me that I live on a farm. I have always known but now I KNOW!!! Just a minute ago I went out and threw hay to our goats, fed the chickens and gathered eggs and it really came into view that I am a farmer. It seems really weird but it is true. It also came into light when Olivia's new chick, Miss Bianca died. I knew she was going to so I went to my friend Sharla's house and dropped the chick off and asked them to kill it since it was suffering. We then went back to the video/farm store and got Olivia 2 healthy chicks; which are doing rather well. Anyway, Sharla dropped a rock on it and killed it. Man, I am in the boonies and things are so different here then in Salt Lake. I love it here though. So anyway, so Olivia told me she did not want another yellow chick. She is soured on yellow chicks. She got a brown and a grey one.
The adoption is almost finished. We have all our paperwork done and now have to make copies of everything and then send it off. I am so thrilled. We should get a referral in 2 weeks if all goes well. I am going to have 3 kids. Can you believe it? I can't. I am going to have a heard aren't I?

MORE Adventures in Milford

Well, the adventures just keep coming for us. I wonder if it is Milford or if it is living on a farm or if it is just us. We had an interesting Mother's Day. JC gave my my present on Friday since he didn't know if he would be here or not on Mother's Day. He made the kids hand print in plaster of paris. It was really sweet. If you don't know JC, you should know he is not crafty in any way. Then Sunday came around. Our chicks and ducks made a huge mess in their cage and it was sooooo smelly. We had to clean it before church or they would get sick. We put the chicks outside in their outside pen and out the ducks in the bathtub. We started to clean up the mess and get side tracked. Suddenly I remember, THE WATER IS STILL RUNNING!!! I go dashing into the bathroom to find the water flowing over the side of the tub and on the floor. It had been doing that for several minutes. I turn off the water, and start grabbing towels. It was a mess. We finally got everything under control. We cleaned up everything and got to church 15 minutes late. Sacrament was o.k. then we get our flowers. Mine was dying. I walked around the hall with it and people were looking at me like "nice flower". Let's just say, I don't want to repeat that Mother's Day.
Our next adventure was the next day. I was going to put our ducks and chicks outside for the night. I am so tired of their messes inside. It was too cold so they had to be in AGAIN! I didn't have their inside cage ready and it was late so I put them in the bathroom with the door closed. The next morning I woke up the a huge mess. That's it. They are going outside and that is where they stayed last night and I couldn't be happier. The ducks have a kiddie swimming pool to play in and all is well.
Meat chick adventures are still happening even though he is dead. I went out to water our garden and poor meat chick had been dug up during the night and he is no longer in the ground. Something came and ate him. We don't know what, but we do know it wasn't any of our pets. We didn't tell Olivia, I filled in the hole, put the rock back on top and went on my way. She has a new baby chick, not a meat chick though. She loves it. She names it Miss Bianca. You know the mouse from the rescuers. Well, When we got it it had just hatched that day.
I have to tell you about the store we bought it at though. It was in Beaver, and it was a video/dance studio/ farm store. The front of the building is the dance studio and the back is the video/ farm store. You walk in past rows and rows of videos and then you come the the counter and to the left is more videos and the right is poultry food and different animals to buy. There were rabbits, mice, geese, ducks and chickens. It was the weirdest store I have ever been to. I bet people are waling around going "Honey, I want to rent a video and hey while we are there let's buy a duck."
Anyway, that is my week thus far. Please post on here so I know I am not just writing for myself.

Goodbye Meat Chick

This has been a hard day for Olivia. Yesterday her beloved chick, we liked to call meat chick because it was a chicken genetically enhanced to slaughter in 8 weeks, died suddenly Apparently this type of chicken was not meant to live a long life. Olivia was heart broken. She cried a lot so we had a little funeral for it. She now wants another meat chick but we have bargained for just another chick instead.
JC went to his interview. All went well. We will find out next week if he gets the job or not. If he gets it we would have a huge weight lifted off our shoulders. It would also give us the money to complete our adoption.
I have only 1 week left of subbing. I am kind of sad but at the same time it will be nice to stay home with the kids. I have really missed being with them.
Kyra is doing well. She is talking a lot and is now singing all the time. It is really cute.
I have planted a garden. We have tomatoes, corn, carrots, green beans, green peppers, and sunflowers. I hope everything grows.
Well, that is all for now. Cross your fingers for JC. I know I am.

My first Blog.

Hi Everyone. This is my first time doing a blog. I thought about how much I liked looking at other peoples blogs that this would be a lot of fun. I don't have a camera that I can connect to the computer so there won't be many pictures until I get one. We are doing really well here in Milford. We are getting close to finishing our adoption and we can't wait to bring our son home. We are leaning towards the name Damien for him but we will finalize the name when we see him. The girls are doing well. They love living on a farm. We have a lot of animals. Here is the rundown: 1 dog, 4 cats, 2 goats, fish, 1 rabbit, 4 ducklings, 3 adult chickens and 6 chicks. Olivia is waiting for me to get her chick out so she can hold it. JC is going to be going for a job interview this week. We hope he can get it. I am still teaching but that will end this month so we will need something else.
