Blown tire...

JC blew a tire last week. He called and woke me up at 5:40 in the morning. I had to go pick him up and he dropped me off at home and went to work. Later the sherriff of an earlier post showed up with our warning to move it or it would get towed with a $400 fine. I told him JC would be home at 5:00 and we would go fix and and move it. He said that was fine. We went to the car and we had to read the manual about the jack. Then we put the donut on it and lowered the car to find it was flat. We raised the car, I took the tire to get air. the sheriff showed up to check on us. WE put the donut back on and turned the key to find the car was now dead. No juice whatsoever. We borrowed jumper cables from some cops and then had to wait 30 minutes for the car to jump. What an adventure.

Blood=Bruise

I have given blood on many occasions. So many in fact I have a blood donor card. Well, I went to donate blood at the Milford blood drive and ended up with a huge bruise. This bruise is the size of a softball. My bicept it really sore also. Why can't I do anything without it turning into something crazy? Can I just get a break? The blood getter guy missed my vein and then chased it and then adjusted the needle on a few occasions. Good thing it is for a good cause or else I might have to pop him in the nose and give him a bruise. JC wasn't too happy about it either.

We have a court date

We have finally received our court date for Damien. His case is suppose to go through court on July 24th. We are so excited. I hope it goes through and doesn't get postponed since courts close in August for 6 weeks. We will then be traveling 2 weeks after that to go and pick him up. I can't wait. There are about 6 other families who are going the same time we are so it will be nice to talk to people doing the same thing we are. I will keep everyone posted as we hear more.

Visitors

We were quite the popular house yesterday. Our first major visitor was Beaver County Sheriff. They saw JC's car on the side of the road and were going to tow it if we didn't get it moved. That would have been a $400 fine. I told them we were going to move it when JC got home from work. That is another story...
The next visitor was an FBI investigator, he was investigating the fire and had some questions for me. At first I thought he was going to ask me what I was doing at the time of the fire etc. Take me in for questioning under a bright light and not let me have water until they got their answers.
This is blog worthy just because we never get visitors and when we do they are law enforcement. I would've rather seen Ed McMann. :)

Anyway, back to changing the tire. We get there and try to find the jack. We get that out and we don't know how to use it. We figure that out and get the tire off and put the spare on, lower the car and the spare is flat. So we lift the car again and I have to go fill it with air. Well, JC's car battery was dead and we don't have jumper cables so I had to go ask a fire and rescue truck if they have cables. We get those and now JC's car is home and today we are taking it to Cedar for new tires. Can I have one thing go on without it being a charade?

Blow out...

JC left for work today, but he didn't get very far before his tire blew out. There isn't much left on the rim. I couldn't believe it. We just had my tire fiasco and now another one. Another day another problem, actually it should say Another day another way to spend money you weren't expecting.

Another day another problem

Well, today, Sunday, I thought would be a good day without anything else to go wrong. Well, that is never the case. I went outside to get my purse during primary and a friend of mine came in at the same time and told me my car had a flat tire. Not juse a little flat, I mean to the rim flat. So, her husband had a lesson on service for the young men and they went out and fixed my flat. I love it here. Everyone is so concerned about everyone else and I just really feel cared about and taken care of. Milford number 1!!!

Shake Shake Shake

Our adventures just keep on coming. We had the fire incident and the next day we went out to feed our animals. Our dog Aussie kept digging at this spot so JC went to see what was going on. Well, in our bushes was a small rattlesnake. I couldn't believe it. I knew they were out here but I never thought I would see one in my yard. Sometimes country living is really scary.

Too close for comfort.

This past weekend has been one I will never forget. As some of you may have seen on the news, there has been a huge fire in Milford Utah. It has been reported to be the biggest fire in history. Well, JC and I are apart of that history. That fire was right in our backyard. We were in Beaver and came home about 10:30 that evening to see a raging fire right by our house. We hurried home and couldn't believe what we were seeing. I called the fire department and they said we didn't have to evacuate yet but they would let us know what was happening. Apparently, the fire started about 4:00 and there were 2 helicopters, 2 planes, and fire trucks from Milford, Minersville, Beaver, and Cedar City. Our house was command central. Friends and family from Milford drove out to help us evacuate our house, but we weren't home. The blessing came when the wind started blowing north east away from our property. That is the only thing that has saved us thus far. We stayed up late waiting for our call to get out. The fire is still burning and with the right wind angle it could come back, but we are praying that won't be the case. So, I just wanted to let everyone know we are safe and so far we are still at our house. We are very thankful to friends and family so willing to be there for us in this emergency.

No News is Good News?

Well, we haven't been informed on our son in some time. We did get an e-mail last week but it was from Ethiopia and our adoption coordinator didn't even know what it means. Hopefully the old saying no news is good news is true. We are still praying to get through the court system before it closes.
Have you ever noticed that life keeps marching on even if you would like it to take a little break? I have been so busy with my church callings that I just wanted it world to stop rotating for 10 minutes so I could sit with nothing to do.
JC is still working at the pig farm. He really enjoys it. He would like to own one of the nursery barns in the future and I am actually o.k. with this idea. He has had quite a few ideas that I don't understand but this one I could get on board with.
The kids are doing well. Both very active and happy.
Well, I will hopefully hear some news soon, because this news would be better news than nothing.
