Well, it has been quite some time since my last post. I apologize to all of you who remember this blog still exists. Well, we are home from Ethiopia. We had the best time. I did so many things that I would never be able to do in the states. We have our son and are a happy little family.
Damien is adjusting very well. He is starting to pick up English and I think he just loves being a kid. He loves his 2 sisters, though Olivia is his favorite. He misses her when she is at pre-school. He is potty-trained and I am happy I only have diapers on one (not for long. We are working on potty-training and things are going well.) JC is working really hard and we are going to start to save to go back to Ethiopia and adopt another little boy, probably the same age since this went so well.
JC and I were very impressed with the orphanages in Ethiopia. They were clean and the kids were happy. They don't sit in the cribs like other countries. They hug and kiss them like their own and the kids really benefit from it. Damien has shown no negative signs and he is really attached to us.
This next week we are going back up to Salt Lake for Damiens dentist appointment and pediatrician appointment. He has to have all of his teeth worked on. It will cost about $2500. I will be happy when this is all finished. We found out that Damien has no enamel on his teeth due to malnourishment. We also found out that before he went to the orphanage his lived on the streets and was a begger. So much for such a little kid to live through.
As for me I am adjusting to having more kids than arms. It is crazy, but I am trying my best. I have gone to church by myself 2 times now and I think I do o.k.
Well, I will write more later. I just wanted to say that things are going well and we are happy. We can't wait to go back.
